APPLICATION
DIBENZOYL PEROXIDE IS AN EFFECTIVE INITIATOR IN THE POLYMERIZATION AND COPOLYMERIZATION OF NUMEROUS VINYL MONMERS INCLUDING VINYL ACETATE, VINYL CHLORIDE, STYRENE, METHYL METHACRYLATE, ACRYLONITRILE ETC. POLYMERIZATIONS ARE READILY CARRIED OUT IN BULK , SOLUTION, EMULSION AND SUSPENSION SYSTEMS. EFFECTIVE CATALYST CONCENTRATIONS ARE IN THE RANGE OF 0.1TO 2% AT 80 TO 150 ºC. DIBENZOYL PEROXIDE IS WIDELY USED AS AN INITIATOR FOR THE POLYMERIZATION OF VINYL MONOMER UNSATURATED POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITIONS AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES OR AT AMBIENT TEMPERATURES WHEN USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH DIMETHYLANILINE OR OTHER ACCELERATORS. DIBENZOYL PEROXIDE HAS BEEN USED AS A BLEACHING AGENT IN THE DECOLORIZATION OF OILS FATS, WAXES, FLOUR AND SOAPS. DIBENZOYL PEROXIDE HAS BEEN USED AS A DRYING AGENT FOR PRINTING INK UNSATURATED OIL.
